About Matt

Matt grew up in Central California in a Christian family under parents, Art and Marian Hanna (now of Placerville, CA). He attended public, Christian, and home schools and finally graduated from Manteca High School in Manteca, California. Other than the direct impact of the Scriptures upon him, and the godly example of his parents, the greatest influence on his Christian development was through reading biographies and autobiographies of great missionaries of the past. In the summer after his Senior year of High School, he volunteered for missionary service. Afterwards he attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC and received both a B.A. in Christian Missions and an M.A. in Bible. Summer mission trips during two summers confirmed God’s call upon his life for missionary service. Matt and Marla were married in 1986 and they joined Baptist Mid-Missions in 1987 for service in Taiwan, Republic of China.
